The Greatest Challenge
The Sheridan-Johnson Counties Local Board of the Wyoming Community Foundation recently hosted a Partnering for Impact event at Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange to hear from the various nonprofit organizations that received grants during the Foundation’s spring grant cycle. One of those grant recipients was Dementia Friendly Wyoming through The Hub on Smith. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
A decade ago, a group of community members secured a federal grant and Dementia Friendly Wyoming was created. Today, Director Heather Comstock is the last remaining dedicated staff member for Dementia Friendly Wyoming. In a recent interview, I asked her to describe the most challenging part of her job.
Comstock talked about some of the signs of dementia that loved ones need to be aware of.
Comstock explained how the $6,000 grant they recently received from the Sheridan-Johnson Counties Local Board of the Wyoming Community Foundation will be used.
More information on Dementia Friendly Wyoming, including the support and services Comstock provides can be found here.
