Bighorn National Forest Temporary Closure Near Sibley Lake
The Bighorn National Forest is alerting the public that due to an active timber sale south of Sibley Lake Recreation Area, a small area is temporarily closed to public entry. This includes a portion of the Sibley Nordic Ski Trails, often used in the summer for hiking or mountain biking.
The Forest is urging the public to please respect the closure for your safety, and do not attempt to enter the area. Active timber sales often involve large, dangerous, mechanized equipment, and operators may not be able to see you. The BNF states that even outside of designated closures, if public warning signs are posted, please stay out of active timber sale areas. Cooperation helps ensure safety for the public and for timber workers.
If you have questions, please contact the Bighorn National Forest at 307-674-2600 or SM.FS.bighorninfo@usda.gov.
