The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest HR association and focuses on assisting organizations to create effective workplaces through education, professional development and workforce best practices.

The Wyoming State Council also hosts an annual conference to bring HR professionals and business leaders together for networking and learning.

Scheduled for Sept. 17-18 and taking place at Sheridan College, the 2026 Wyoming SHRM Conference is designed to connect HR professionals, business leaders and workplace experts from across the state to address human resource needs, questions and solutions. Wyoming State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management State Director Nicole Romeo said HR departments have been stigmatized as the “principles office” of many work places. But the field has evolved over the last decade to address many issues within various organizations and industries.

Romeo said the conference is designed not only for HR professionals but also for supervisors, executives and business owners seeking to stay current on rapidly changing workplace issues while networking with peers from around the state.
