JCHC Clinic Director Reports Decrease in Visits in May
Johnson County Healthcare Center Clinic Director Crystal Smith, in her written report to the hospital board in June, said numbers of patient visits to the clinic were down during the month of May compared to the same time last year, totaling 1,177 visits, down from 1,360 in 2025.
She said they had not identified any significant drivers for the decrease in visits.
She also said 349 patients were evaluated in the walk-in clinic, down from 374 in 2025.
Smith said Primary Care Provider (PCP) availability is being used to improve continuation of care and provider utilization.
She also reported that Chronic Care Management (CCM) has been launched in the facility.
She explained that CCM is a Medicare-supported care coordination program for patients with two or more chronic conditions, with expected benefits including proactive outreach, improved medication and care plan management, stronger patient access between visits, and potential reimbursement opportunity.
