Stephens said if the ballot measure is approved in August, five board members would be elected during November’s General Election, and the board would be tasked with establishing policy and overseeing distribution of the District’s funds. The Senior Citizen Service District would come before voters every four years if approved this year. The Primary Election in Wyoming this year is Tuesday, August 18. The General Election is Tuesday, November 3.

We are opposed to forcing tax money out of the pockets of every property owner in Sheridan County. It doesn’t matter what the “good cause” or perceived “need” is.
Forced taxation should only be used for essential services that everybody needs and uses: police, courts, basic infrastructure.
Property taxes are high enough without increasing them by letting everyone over 18 vote on it.
If the tax will only be levied on property owners, then by right, only property owners should be allowed to vote on this.
