Clearmont Town Council Discusses Clearmont Day Celebration

The Clearmont Town Council met on Monday, April 20, and discussion centered on water well #3, landfill monitoring, the Meade Avenue waterline replacement project, and Clearmont Day coming June 27.

Mayor Chris Schock reported that the town received an application for water service for the proposed Clearmont housing development.

In other business, Mayor Schock presented a bid from Nelson Engineering for monitoring the town’s abandoned landfill. The council voted to accept the bid from Engineering Associates.

Schock also asked for council members to get involved with Clearmont Day, and council member Ernie Miller wondered when the meetings were.

Clerk Shelby Fennema reported that Clearmont Clear-Up day will be May 31, so the town will be cleaned up for Clearmont Day.

Engels said they are now working on putting meters on the new well.

Cheryl Roebling talked to the board about the Clearmont Women’s Club planting flowers in the town planters this year.

There were several visitors, Engineering Associates David Engels and Eric Holifield; Cheryl Roebling, and Joanie Kiser of the Clearmont Women’s Club; Sheridan County Under Sheriff Doug Sanders; area residents Brenda and Dusty Bates.
