Hidden Hoot Trail Reopening Volunteer Night Set for May 1
The Sheridan Community Land Trust (SCLT) is inviting the community to lend a hand in preparing the Hidden Hoot Trail for the upcoming season during a volunteer work night on Friday, May 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. The trail will reopen to the public once the work is complete. Hidden Hoot was temporarily closed on April 1 for calving season. Volunteers will assist the SCLT team in smoothing trail tread following winter damage and in making light repairs to bridges, trail edges, and other areas impacted by hoofprints and ruts.
Participants are asked to meet at Black Tooth Park in Sheridan, where groups will carpool and bike to nearby work sites. Volunteers are welcome to come for any portion of the evening. SCLT Marketing and Development Contract Chris Vrba says no prior trail work is necessary, just a willingness to help.
Vrba said following the work session, volunteers are invited to stick around and enjoy a complimentary meal, as Qdoba has generously donated burritos for all participants as a thank-you for their time and effort. The Hidden Hoot Trail Volunteer Night is free and open to all ages. SCLT requests that volunteers sign up on their website in advance.
