One Man Injured After Being Shot By Sheridan Police Officers
On 4/26/26 at approximately 0320 a citizen called the Sheridan Police Department to report that a woman was in distress and making statements about someone wanting to kill her baby.
The incident happened on the 1100 block of Park Drive.
During the investigation, officers attempted to contact an involved party.
The involved party exited the house, then suddenly retreated into the house.
At that time, several shots came from the house in the direction of the officers.
The involved party then exited the house with a long gun in hand, advancing towards officers.
Officers engaged the male and shot him.
The male was transported to the hospital for emergent care.
No officers suffered harm.
Per policy, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident and the involved officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
There is no threat to the community.
