Jo Co Commission Amends Budget to Add Funds for House Draw Fire

The Johnson County Commission, at this week’s meeting, voted to amend their 2025-26 budget in the amount of just over $400,000 for House Draw Fire recovery.

Commission Chair Bill Novotny explained further.

The commission entered into a budget hearing where no public comment was offered.

According to Wyofile, the House Draw Fire occurred back in 2024 and caused nearly $25 million in damages while burning roughly 175,000 acres in Johnson County.

The commission voted to amend the budget to accept the funds.
