Sheridan Commission Denies Geehan Setback Variance
A request for a setback variance in Story has been denied by the Sheridan County Commission.
Nancy Geehan applied for the setback variance for an existing building on her property, which is closer to the property line than allowed by county standards.
County Planner Mark Reid gave more details.
County Planning & Zoning voted 3-0 to not recommend approval of the variance request.
According to discussion, the county and the applicant have been trying to settle the issue for a number of years, with no resolution so far.
Commissioner Nick Siddle said neighboring landowners were not in favor of the variance.
The commission chose to deny the setback variance on a split vote.
