Graveside funeral services for Patricia Hepp, 94-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away Tuesday at the Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, will be held Thursday, June 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the Quiet Rest Cemetery in Banner with Pastor Paul Gilbert officiating. Visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until noon. There will be a reception at Kearney Hall following the graveside. Donations in Patty’s memory may be made to the St. Francis Animal Shelter at 108 Flatiron Dr. in Buffalo, Wyoming 82834. Patricia Jeanne Hepp was born on May 21, 1932, in Forsythe, Montana, the second of four girls born to John and Linnie Grace Weaver. She grew up and went to school in Story, Wyoming and attended Sheridan High School. She was married on January 3, 1949, in Casper to Earl L. Hepp, and they made their home on the family ranch in Kearney. They lived and worked the ranch until 1968 when they sold the ranch to Reynolds Aluminum. Patty worked as a teacher’s aid at the Kearney School and served on the school board. After Kearney School closed, Patty drove bus for the Kearney and Shell Creek students to Buffalo for several years. Earl passed away in December of 2006, and Patty continued living in Buffalo until 2024 when she moved to Casper to live near her son. She continued living in Casper until her death.

Patty was a member of the Shell Piney Homemakers Club since she was sixteen. In 2002 she received the Susan J. Quealy Award, a prestigious and historical honor given by the Wyoming Homemakers in partnership with the University of Wyoming Extension. She was an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed Bingo. She is survived by one son, John Hepp and his wife Liz of Casper; one daughter Diana Mader and her husband Ray of Buffalo; two sisters Rosemary Loeber of Henderson, Nevada and Betty Rice of Gillette, Wyoming; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Bill Hepp and one sister Bonnie Wright.
