Donald Wayne Bloxom
Donald Wayne Bloxom, 84, passed away June 26, 2026, at his home in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Born in the old Sheridan Hospital on March 30, 1942, Don attended school in Sheridan, Wyoming graduating in 1960. He served in the Navy for four years. Don married Nancy Hayes in 1965. They recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. He retired from the USPS. He worked for numerous ranches and King’s Saddlery. He loved being a cowboy. He was also a member of the Dayton Community Church.
Don was an avid hunter, cowboy, loved playing pool and cards, and spending time with family.
Don will be sadly missed by his wife Nancy Bloxom; children Wendy (John) Shassetz; Wes (Bailie) Bloxom; and Nicole (Sam) Smith; grandchildren Lindsay (Tyler) Johnson; Clint (Abby) Foster; Tyler Ilgen; Mikayla, Mason, Myles & Macklee Bloxom; Ashley (Jeremy) Barka; and Jessica (Garrett) Goostree; great-grandchildren Allie, Liam, Amelia, Duke, Warren, Abbott, Luke, Caleb, Jasper, Avagayle, Valerie, Jewel, and Noel; his sister Linda (Ken) Howe; brothers Mansel (Mary) Johnston Jr. (Butch) and Art (Pilar) Johnston, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Wayne Bloxom and Thelma (Mansel) Johnston.
The family would like to especially thank Kara and Sage with SMH Hospice and their team of volunteers for their care and support. We would also like to acknowledge the Hub, Compassionate Care from Ranchester, and the Sheridan VA during this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Ignite Wesleyan Church, followed by a private family graveside service with Military Honors. Memorial donations may be made to Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation-Hospice, 1401 West 5th St., Sheridan, Wyoming 82801.

we at the pinochle group in Dayton will sincerely miss our cowboy. He was a great player and every time we are missing a J for a good hand we think of cowboy as that was his situation so many times. So sorry for Wendy and the rest of the family
