Donna Reed Jacobs 1946 ~ 2026: Donna Reed Jacobs, of Buffalo Wyoming passed away on May 13, 2026. She was 79 years old. She was born in Sheridan, Wyoming, to George Perry Reed and Edith Shrader Reed, she lived a life marked by adventure and a love of nature. She leaves behind a legacy of many adventurous stories, as she was a free spirit and had a love for travel and loved exploring new scenery and experiences.

Donna was a graduate of Sheridan High School and continued her education at Eastern Montana College in Billings, Montana, where she earned her teaching degree. Her commitment to learning and travel led her into a profession that reflected both her intelligence and her sense of adventure.

She taught on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico, a calling that spoke to her desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Through her work as an educator, Donna shared knowledge, encouragement, and care, touching lives in ways that reached far beyond the classroom.

After her retirement, Donna embraced adventure with the same curiosity that had long shaped her life. She loved to travel and explore in her RV, visiting many beautiful places throughout the West and Southwest, even making a memorable trip to Canada. Her family affectionately remembers her as their “crazy, courageous aunt” and sometimes referred to as “feral” due to her being off on adventures where family wouldn’t have contact with her for long periods of time. To know Donna is to understand these affectionate nick names for her.

Donna also found joy in the friendships and activities at the Buffalo Senior Center, where she especially enjoyed the writing group, leather-crafting, and ceramics. In 2025, her friends at the Amie Holt Care Center honored her by electing her as their prom queen, a lovely surprise a celebration she deeply enjoyed.

Donna is survived by her brother, Walter (Sandra) Reed, her son, Stacey (Brandy) Jacobs, her daughter, Lori Jacobs; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place for Donna at Champion Kane Funeral Home, in Sheridan Wyoming, Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. A Reception luncheon will take place immediately after.
