Liz Cheney No Longer Recognized As Member Of WY Republican Party

The Wyoming Republican Party will no longer recognize Liz Cheney as a member of the GOP in its second formal rebuke for her criticism of former President Donald Trump.

The 31-29 vote Saturday (November 13th) in Buffalo, by the state party central committee, followed votes by local GOP officials in about one-third of Wyoming’s 23 counties to no longer recognize Cheney as a Republican.

In February, the Wyoming GOP central committee voted overwhelmingly to censure Cheney, Wyoming’s lone U.S. representative, for voting to impeach Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Cheney has described her vote to impeach Trump as an act of conscience in defense of the Constitution.

Trump “incited the mob” and “lit the flame” of that day’s events, Cheney said after the attack.

It’s “laughable” for anybody to suggest Cheney isn’t a “conservative Republican,” Cheney spokesman Jeremy Adler said by text message Monday.

“She is bound by her oath to the Constitution. Sadly a portion of the Wyoming GOP leadership has abandoned that fundamental principle and instead allowed themselves to be held hostage to the lies of a dangerous and irrational man,” Adler added.

Cheney is now facing at least four Republican opponents in the 2022 primary including Cheyenne attorney Harriet Hageman, whom Trump has endorsed.

Hageman in a statement called the latest state GOP central committee vote “fitting,”

“Liz Cheney stopped recognizing what Wyomingites care about a long time ago. When she launched her war against President Trump, she completely broke with where we are as a state,” Hageman said.

In May, Republicans in Washington, D.C., removed Cheney from a top congressional GOP leadership position after she continued to criticize Trump’s false claims that voter fraud cost him re-election.

Cheney had survived an earlier attempt to remove her as chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, a role that shapes GOP messaging in the chamber.

Who knows what this woman represents, but it is clearly NOT the state of WY. By the way, liz, there is no proof that Trump incited the “mob”. Guilty until proven innocent is what despotic totalitarian countries are made of, NOT America.

You are totally right Mark. I am sure that Liz knew the probable reaction from today’s trumpians {alias the GOP}. But that is what you get from trumpies for honesty. Liz did her job and STOOD TALL for America.

The problem with those 31 people in the central committee is they are not alone. There are thousands who think just like them, some even called themselves tea billies not so long ago. They must have had a blowout sale on orange peel kool aid.

I am a Wyoming Republican and I still recognize Liz Cheney as a Wyoming Republican. The Wyoming Republican Party is nothing more than a President Donald Trump fan club and should be marked the true RHINO’s…Republican In Name Only. She defends our Democratic Republic and sees thru the Rhino bs that is ex President Donald Trump.

OH my goodness Charley me thinks you get more Radical with each post. But as long as you brought it up, what do you call a man who incited an attempted overthrow of our Democracy??? A man who threatens the very foundation of this country by lying about and creating doubt about elections. Could it be Donny Junior Trump??? If the shoe fits, indeed.

I usually don’t respond to silly left-wing nonsense posted on this board, but I have had a belly full of being called a “radical,” most often for simply point out facts. If you really think that Donald Trump “attempted to overthrow our Democracy,” then you probably also think that the BLM/Antifa riots (yes, RIOTS) in Portland and Seattle were just fine. How about their attempt to burn down a federal courthouse in Portland? Was that an attempt to “overthrow” duly constituted authority, or was it, in the words of the Dem politicians part of the “summer of love?” While I realize you have no intention of attending to actual, documented facts, I will nonetheless forever end my attempt at dialog with you by suggesting that (if you can summon the courage to do so) you read a pristinely documented book entitled “Rigged” where you will find documented instances of the lie of Liz’s “Big Lie” (supported by over 100 pages of carefully researched sources of factual information). So, now, go ahead and angrily post more bloviations with leftwing diatribes and wholly unsubstantiated spin and propaganda. Have at it, as I’m sure you will.

Actually Charlie the riots in the name of blm in Portland made me sick to my stomach. As did the Nazi riots that trump thought there was good guys on both sides. If your only weapon is to put words in the other side’s mouth. Then your arguments are extraordinarily w e a k!! Maybe that is why you intend to end our dialog.

Hey Charlie – the central committee votes that someone is no longer a member of the party. Ring any bells? Too close to see this clearly?

Charlie I have read rigged. It is not what you say it is. It is full of wild claims that are not supported by reality. The book’s references are spurious, cherry picked which has related in a bias non holistic overview. This book ignores the fact that Trump was an extremely divisive and unpopular President. His administration was a national embarrassment that culminated in a attempt coup.

She isn’t for what the Wyoming people want….. She put her agenda first, and the Trump vs. Dick fight isnt what we elected her for. She isn’t Wyoming, and is going against what the majority of her constituents want. Time to go liz, your time is up. Go back home to Virginia

Most sane folks, especially those on the outside looking in,know “what Wyoming people want”, their own little country with the orange peel as the dictator. Little reason why so many smart, young people have left the state.

I commend Liz Cheney for her fortitude and strength on this issue. It is disturbing how many people have been deluded by the orange charlatan. I used to think Wyoming citizens were free thinkers and independent but unfortunately a scrounge of blindness and ignorance has infected the State’s Republican Party
