SPD Officers Presented With ‘Life Saving Award’

Three members of the Sheridan Police Department were presented with the Sheridan Police Department Life Saving Award at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council Meeting for their actions that resulted in saving the life of a stabbing victim at a residence in Sheridan County earlier this year. Corporal Jacob Board, and Officers Derek Jensen and Chase Phillip received the award for their performance on January 26 when they provided life-saving first aid to a stabbing victim. Four police graduates from the Staff and Command program were also recognized at the Council meeting. They were Lieutenant Tom Ringley, Sergeant Daniel Keller, Sergeant James Hill, and Sergeant  Jerry Rasmussen. Woodland Park School Nurse Noele Mena was recognized for her role in resuscitating a student at Woodland Park Elementary School who had collapsed at school on February 24 due to a heart condition. The Council, after an executive session, reconvened into a regular session and voted to accept the contract proposal from the firefighters union.
