Commissioner Siddle Not Seeking Re-Election
It has been a privilege to be allowed to serve Sheridan County as a Commissioner for the past eight years. When I first ran for the position, I had a goal of serving two terms and was fortunate enough to be elected twice. I have very mixed feelings as I decide to step away from this part of my life, but in the interest of my family and my physical and mental health, I believe this to be the right time to step away.
I have been fortunate enough to serve with some outstanding commissioners and elected officials during my tenure and consider some of them to be friends and mentors for life. I served as Chairman of the Commission during COVID and the Elk Fire Season, and to say that was stressful would be an understatement. But through the support of an outstanding staff and the grace and efforts of our great community we endured.
The true strength of our county government lies in our employees, and I have continually fought to try and keep them first in our discussions and give them the salaries and benefits necessary to keep them competitive in the job market. Unfortunately, in some cases we have not been in the fiscal situation to give them what they truly deserve. I want to thank them for their service and loyalty to the county.
I intend to stay involved in the community and continue to serve the organizations I am involved in and continue to volunteer my services when needed. I hope that community minded people who have the goal to put the needs of our community first step up and consider running for public office or serve on community service committees. I intend to use some of my time to assist those who truly have an interest in putting Sheridan and Sheridan County first in their political aspirations.
My phone number will not change, and I am happy to serve as a source of information or consult with anyone on issues in our community. Once again, thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Thank you Nick! Job well done. We can only wish that all our elected officials serve with the openness, honesty and integrity that you have shown. Thank you for all your work teaching, board activities, and committee works!
It’s time to work on Tammy’s to do list.
See you on the golf course.
