Schellinger Announces Candidacy for County Commission

Long-time Sheridan Resident, and Sheridan Media Sales Manager, Jim Schellinger, announced today his candidacy for Sheridan County Commissioner.

A Wyoming native, Schellinger has been a Sheridan County resident for 37 years. He is married to Cheryl, his lovely wife of 39 years. Together they raised two children, Cody and Cassidy. Both children graduated Sheridan High School and Sheridan College.

Jim has been very active in the community as a Chamber of Commerce Board Member, a Sheridan City Councilman, and a Board Member of Sheridan County Travel & Tourism. He is currently a Sheridan County Republican Precinct Committeeman, a Chamber Ambassador, President of the Community Holiday Dinner, and serves on the Life Link Sheridan County Board.

“Sheridan County has seen many changes over the years, and will face several challenges as the cost of products and services continue to increase in the face of funding adjustments to counties across our state.”

Schellinger believes that incremental growth is a good thing for our communities. However, it can be challenging, which is why he feels that “common sense” approaches, rather than ideology, should be the driving focus of the office.

“Clean water, well maintained roads and bridges, airport improvements, senior services, secure elections, public health, quality law enforcement, as well as our fantastic views, landscapes, and recreational opportunities…. We have to continue working to protect all the things that make Sheridan County one of the best places on earth to live and raise a family.”
