SCWP Assistant Supervisor Shares his Tick Prevention Techniques
Sheridan County Weed and Pest Control District alerted the public to several reports of ticks from community members and encountered numerous ticks while performing spring surveys for weeds, grasshoppers, and mosquitoes.
Assistant Supervisor Brian Songer spends hours in the field performing surveys. In some areas he knows he has a high chance of picking up ticks himself. While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Songer shared the techniques he uses to avoid becoming a likely host to these little unwanted guests.

SCWP is also asking the public to report any large populations of grasshoppers. According to the district, in order for their prevention methods to effectively perform large scale treatments of grasshoppers, high density populations need to be reported early in the season.
