SCSD#2 Board hears Pledge of Allegiance Presentation

On Monday, May 4, the SCSD#2 Board of Trustees heard a presentation about the Pledge Of Allegiance to the United States Flag, from the kindergarten and first grade class at Story Elementary School.

Teacher Melissa Price had the students introduce themselves, then they presented to the board the correct way to say the Pledge of Alliance to the Flag.

They talked about the colors on the flag; red symbolizes the bravery of the soldiers; the white is for innocence of the people and blue is for justice. They also told the audience what the stars and stripes symbolize.

After the presentation, Scott Cleland, SHS Principal, honored Jane Buell as the classified staff member of the year, saying

He added that she is the ‘hearbeat’ of the school, and she is proud of her Basque heritage.

Buell received a standing ovation from the board and those attending the meeting.

After Cleland’s presentation, Taylor Reynolds and Chaney Beyer talked about the FFA Livestock Team State Champions and state officers from the John B. Kendrick FFA.

Clay Christesen talked about the SkillsUSA State Champions in Additive Manufacturing, Sam Garretson and Lukas Schreiber.

Other business at the SCSD#2 meeting will be addressed in another story.
