Councilors Raise Concerns About RV Park
The Sheridan City Council met for their first regular business meeting of May Monday night. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
During his report to the governing body on the City’s 2026 construction projects, City Engineer Thomas Morneau talked about phase two of an RV park in east Sheridan.
Councilors Terry Weitzel and Bev Leichtnam voiced their concerns over the appearance of the RV Park.
Morneau said City staff will continue to track the RV Park and work with the applicant to address the concerns that the councilors brought forth about the lack of landscaping and overall general appearance of the area.

City approved this and now they have concerns? Like you couldn’t see this coming! Do better.

All the statements by the city councilors may be true, HOWEVER, this is an example of “affordable housing” in Sheridan and across the country. Walk the walk. Words alone don’t fix anything.

Again?, this is just another example of many over the years, that many Sheridan citizens had concerning the implemented position of City Administrator. We can now see the exact concerns of having that position, and eroding the strong Mayor, City Council form of government, that no longer exists. It’s become quit evident over the years since installing the position of City Administrator, resulting in a now Defacto Mayor,Quasi Council, that’s simply showing up every other week in ceremonial fashion! This little charade of two Council members suddenly having concerns over a project in progress, when their elected responsibility as we the people’s employees, should have been on top of the issue from the beginning? As a former City Councilman, in a strong Mayor, City Council Government, I spent many hours in the appropriate offices of the individual Department Heads and associated support offices, and fixed the problems, small, medium, or large, good, bad, or ugly, from the beginning, not in the middle or end. As many of we the people expressed at the time, concerning implementing the position of City Administrator, would result in the causation of inificiant government, on behalf of we the people, and that has been bourne out over the years having the City Administrator’s position, and is simply not effective for citizens to redress their grievences before their City representatives and government in Sheridan, Wyoming? A Mayor getting 24 thousand plus of our tax monies, six councilors pinching a thousand dollars a month of your tax monies? Is it worth it on behalf of we the people of Sheridan,Wyoming? I think not!
