Johnson County Makes, Approves January Motions

Johnson County’s Commissioners appointed themselves to various boards and set officers for the coming year at their first regular Tuesday meeting of 2020.

Commissioner Bill Novotny was re-elected as Chairman of the Commission for the year, and Commissioner Linda Greenough was also re-elected as Vice-Chairman.

The commissioners also approved and accepted the disclosures for those that are in contact with pecuniary funds.

Treasurer Carla Bishop was approved to make investments on behalf of the county, and First Northern Bank, First Interstate Bank, Bank of Buffalo, and ANB Bank as the official depositories for the county.

The commissioners approved themselves to serve on boards and committees for the coming year.

Commissioner Novotny was appointed to the Board of Health; the Buffalo/Johnson County Justice Center Joint Powers Board; the Kaycee/Buffalo/Johnson County Economic Development Joint Powers Board; The Northeast Wyoming Municipal Leader’s group, or NEWY; and the liaison to the County Fair Board, Youth Camp Board, Planning & Zoning Commission, Rural Health Board, the Clear Creek Conservation District, Bureau of Land Management Committee, and the Wyoming County Commissioners Association.

Commissioner Linda Greenough was appointed to the Board of Health; Buffalo/Johnson County Justice Center Joint Powers Board; Child Support Authority Board; and the liaison to the Lake DeSmet Advisory Board, the Library Board, Cemetery District, Powder River Conservation District, and the Hospital District Board.

Commissioner Bob Perry was appointed to the Board of Health; Bighorn National Forest Steering Committee; Bighorn Mountain Counties Coalition; Airport Board; Harold Jarrard Park Board; and liaison to the Jim Gatchell Museum Board, Solid Waste District and the Recycling Center Board, County Weed and Pest, County Fire District #1, County Search and Rescue, and the Bighorn National Forest Advisory Committee.
