Buffalo Council Passes Resolution for 1% Ballot Measure

The Buffalo City Council considered a Resolution approving a proposition to impose a one percent Specific Purpose Sales and Use Tax in Johnson County to fund various projects in Buffalo, Kaycee, and Johnson County.

Mayor Shane Schrader gave details on the proposal.

At the General Election in November, Johnson County voters will be able to vote for any combination of one, two, three, or none of the projects on the ballot to add another one cent tax to the county to pay for them.

However many projects are approved, the additional one cent tax will be split between them to fund and pay them off over time.

Once the projects are paid, the additional one cent tax will end.

The council voted to approve Resolution No. 1506.
