Barrasso: America’s Transportation Infrastructure Act Cuts Through Washington Red Tape
U.S. Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming spoke on the Senate floor Wednesday about the importance of America’s Transportation Infrastructure Act. Barrasso, Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, said it is now time to pass the bill, as our aging roads and bridges need to be addressed.
Senator Barrasso said that the bill will help cut through government red tape.
Last summer the EPW Committee unanimously advanced the bill that authorizes $287 billion over five years, including $259 billion for formula programs to maintain and repair America’s roads and bridges. America’s Transportation Infrastructure Act includes provisions to codify key elements of President Trump’s “One Federal Decision” policy to streamline project delivery and federal approvals. The legislation also includes provisions to improve road safety, protect the environment, and grow the economy.

For once I actually agree with barrasso…America’s roads and bridges are in bad shape and I attest to this by traveling in my RV over many of them the last 20 years.Instead of pooping money off on a “wall” that will never work, that same money could be applied to fixing roads and bridges.Instead of kicking the can down the road…again.
