County Passes Resolution on Elected Officials Salaries

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have passed a resolution setting the elected officials’ salaries with an increase in pay for the next four years.
County Administrative Director Renee Obermueller said the commission has been looking at different scenarios for salaries, and explains further.
Option 1 gave a base salary plus a 5% increase, while Option 2 gave a set percentage increase.
Both options will set the salaries the same for all four years, with no incremental increase each year.
The commission voted to approve Option 2.
According to discussions at the meeting, the elected officials have not had an increase in pay since 2014.
The commissioners did not give themselves an increase in pay.
The salaries will take effect on January 1, 2023 and will be in place until December 31, 2026.
Options 1 and 2 both set the salaries for the county clerk, treasurer, assessor, and clerk of district court at $87,150 per year; the county coroner at $34,350 per year; and the county commissioners with no change, remaining at $33,900 per year.
In Option 1, the the county sheriff’s annual salary would have been $90,465 per year; and the county and prosecuting attorney would have been $109,200 per year.
Option 2 set the sheriff’s salary at $91,400 per year; and the county and prosecuting attorney at $115,450 per year.
