Sheridan Hawks Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks will start their 2024-25 season this weekend with a pair of games at Great Falls.
Last season, the Frontier Division arguably proved it was the toughest of the 5 divisions in the NA3HL.
Division Champ Helena ended up winning the Frasier Cup, and Gillette, who qualified for the Frasier Cup Tournament as a wild card, made it to the semi-finals.
Hawks Head Coach J.J. Santagata says for the most part, the one thing that this year’s schedule is going to have is an abundance of competition.
Sheridan will play 13 of their first 18 games on the road.
The home opener is Saturday, September 14th vs. Gillette.
University of Wyoming/Mountain West Conference Football: The Wyoming Cowboys play their home opener this Saturday vs. Idaho.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30pm.
This year teams in the Mountain West Conference play what’s called a 7 plus 1 format.
The 12 teams will play 7 conference games and will play either Washington State or Oregon State, but those 2 teams will not be eligible to play in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game.
Don’t get too comfortable with the current format, because The Mountain West Conference has announced the deal will not be renewed next year.
This past Sunday was the deadline.
The Pokes will travel to Pullman at the end of this regular season to play WSU.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos start their season this Sunday at Seattle.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:05pm.

Meanwhile the Raiders and Chargers will start with a division game vs. each other at LA.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were shutout last night in the opener of their 3-game series at Atlanta 3-zip.
With the loss, the Rocks have been mathematically eliminated from postseason contention, and the team still has 23 games left to play.
Of those 23, the team has to win at least 9 of them in order to finish with a better record than last year, and have to win at least 12 to avoid a 100 loss season.
First pitch of today’s game is scheduled for 5:20pm.
