A 57-year-old man charged with the alleged distribution of methamphetamine in the Sheridan area changed his plea Thursday in District Court. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Change of Plea

In November of 2019, Glenn Murphy was arrested and charged with three felonies after selling drugs to a confidential informant. Murphy was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine; Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana.

According to court documents, in October of 2019, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation became aware of Murphy distributing methamphetamine in the Sheridan area. At a change of plea hearing Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court, Murphy, pursuant to a plea agreement reached with the State, pleaded “guilty” to the delivery charge. In exchange for the guilty plea, the State agreed to dismiss the two possession charges as part of the plea deal. The plea agreement recommends a sentence of     2 ½ to 4 years in prison, suspended, in lieu of three years of supervised probation.

District Court Judge John Fenn ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and set the sentencing date for May 11 at 10 am.
