Buffalo Will Recycle Christmas Trees This Year
The City of Buffalo will be recycling Christmas Trees again this year, according to city officials.
Residents, after they have enjoyed their tree for the holiday season, can take their trees to Prosinski Park in Buffalo where they will be recycled.
As long as residents clean their trees properly.
Mayor Shane Schrader said trees need to be real, not artificial, and free of all non-organic materials such as lights, tinsel, and any other decorations so they can be recycled.
Cleaned trees can be chipped and reused as organic mulch, but any trees containing non-organic materials must be burned, which is a waste of the tree, according to the mayor.
He said, “I strongly encourage everyone to completely clean their Christmas Trees before they drop them off so they can be recycled into useful mulch.”
Trees can be dropped off at Prosinski Park beginning the day after Christmas.
