Alleged Drug Dealer Arraigned in District Court
An arraignment hearing was held Tuesday for a Sheridan man charged with three felonies for allegedly distributing drugs in the Sheridan area. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
A three-day jury trial has been set for next spring for 58-year-old Michael Schutt after he entered “not guilty” pleas to the charges of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance to a Minor; Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver- Marijuana. The other two co-defendants in the case, 30-year-old Meagan Crone and 30-year-old Donald Brower have been arraigned and have both pleaded “not guilty” to the charges against them.
District Court Judge John Fenn set the three-day #5 stack trial to begin on Monday, March 15 of next year. The #5 stack trial means that there are four other trials scheduled for the same time. A pretrial conference was set for February 11 at 11 am. Judge Fenn modified Schutt’s bond to $10,000 cash or surety. If convicted on all three counts, Schutt faces up to 30 years in prison and fines of up to $30,000.
