Sheridan Woman Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ to Endangering Children Charge
A 22-year-old Sheridan woman was arraigned in Fourth Judicial District Court Tuesday for a drug related charge. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
In February of this year, the Department of Family Services received a report that Brianna McEachran had been smoking methamphetamine in her apartment in Sheridan with two children present, one an infant, and the other a two-year-old. An investigation by the Sheridan Police Department led to her arrest in late May for the alleged crime of Endangering Children, which is a felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. According to court documents, hair samples taken from the children were lab-confirmed positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Tuesday in District Court, McEachran pleaded “not guilty” to the charge. District Court Judge John Fenn set the two-day jury trial to begin on Monday, December 14 and scheduled a pretrial conference for November 12 at 9 am. Judge Fenn continued McEachran’s bond under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court.
