Learning About How the City Functions
The City of Sheridan is giving residents an opportunity to learn about what goes into the day-to-day operations of a municipality. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The inaugural Citizen Academy will be led by City staff, and it will offer participants the opportunity to tour facilities, experience City operations firsthand, and learn more about how to get involved in their local government and community. Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger says the City is encouraging individuals from all backgrounds and professions to apply, including retirees, tradespeople, business owners, students, and administrative professionals.
The Citizen Academy will meet each Wednesday at 5:30 pm, from August 12 through September 30, and session length will vary from two to three hours. You must be at least 18 years of age to take part in the academy. The application period to be one of the 20 participants closes on July 15. You can apply for the Citizens Academy by clicking here.
