SPD Alerts Public to New Parade Chair Resolution
The Sheridan Police Department is alerting residents of new rules for chair placement along the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Parade route.
Captain Tom Ringley made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse alerting the public that under a resolution approved by the Sheridan City Council, chairs, benches, coolers, signs and other personal property may not be placed along the parade route prior to 5 p.m. on July 9.

Ringley said the change was needed after people began placing chairs and other items earlier each year, creating safety and accessibility concerns.
The Captain said items placed early may be removed without notice and placed in a location for easy pick up at a later time. Should this location be needed, the city will announce where the public can retrieve their chairs or other belongings.
The goal of the resolution is to preserve the tradition of placing chairs early on the route while maintaining safe and accessible public spaces.
