Senator Barrasso: ‘GOP Tax Cuts Put More Money in People’s Pockets’

Published

on

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) Wednesday, highlighted the direct benefits Americans are receiving from the Working Families Tax Cuts law. Barrasso said for people that are filing their taxes for the first time under this new tax law – the Working Families Tax Cuts – they are seeing that they are keeping more, and this is what Republicans promised – to put more money in people’s pockets

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso

Barrasso said the Internal Revenue Service released data Wednesday on the tax refunds that shows the average refund this year is over $3,400 per family,  nearly $250 per month in people’s pockets, which is much higher than it was last year.

Senate Majority Whip?…that is laughable…too many narcissistic lunatics and yes men in the trump administration and Americans are feeling the financial pinch

And to relieve some of the financial “pinch” all we have to do is vote ourselves a temporary Tax Break this November.
The state-high 6% sales tax is the one and only tax that we control directly by our vote.
We should use our power and Vote for lower taxes by getting rid of the un-necessary and burdensome 1% Generally Mis-Purposed EXCESS Tax.
Since the 1770’s real Americans have always preferred Lower Taxes, because it’s our money in the first place, not government’s.
      Lower taxes are always better.

Pig slop too. Fuel prices are taking a lot more out of our pockets than any phony politician attempts to put in. People need to start thinking outside the box come midterms.Term limits now.

Fuel prices were higher under king Biden, but it was OK because it meant less driving and less greenhouse gasses which is better for the environment. So why is it bad now?

More blarney from Thomas Jones…the reason gas prices rose under the Biden administration was due to post pandemic surge in demand after refineries reduced output production operations…excessive inflation is always less desirable…tariff taxation only increases inflation and out of pocket expense…most everyone is pissed off which will be illustrated to the GOP in the upcoming mid-term elections

It was bidens green new deal to cut greenhouse gasses, mark.

Looks like Barrasso is one of the lapdogs trying to rebrand the Big Beautiful Bill as “the working families tax cut” when the reality is that the bottom 95% of taxpayers will see increases by an average of $900 in 2026, with Wyomingites among those who will pay the most with an average closer to $1200-$1400.

    Winning.

Lower taxes let more people keep more of their own money in their own pockets.
Personal attacks aside (which is all the left has) anytime the gov’t takes a smaller bite out of our pockets, it’s a good thing.
    Lower taxes are always better!

tariffs and high fuel costs are just as pocket picking as taxes that’s why the GOP will be trounced in November

if one penny per dollar bothers you buy a tent and move to a beach somewhere

It’s not a “penny” it’s One Percent of all taxable goods and services. The high-tax socialists use “penny” in a deliberate attempt to deceive the public.
Fix the car and it’s taxed on parts and labor. Same with the plumber and electrician. Add it up over a year and most people spend on average about $25K per yr. on taxable items. That’s $1,000 over four yrs. and $10,000 over a 40 year working lifetime. It adds up over time.
Invest the savings from that 1% drop in sales tax rate and it adds up to over $125,000 over a working lifetime. (good growth-stock mutual funds, your results may vary).
Point is it seems small till you actually add it up over time.
Most people never do and they end up being fleeced by that stealthy one percent sales tax.
Do your own math. Add up what you spend over the year and then plug it into a financial calculator. It’s the magic of lower taxes, compound interest and time.
Lower taxes are always better for everyone, except high-tax, big-gov’t liberals, who defraud us all.
What’s the harm in trying a temporary tax cut to 5%? We might like paying lower taxes!

mr fox you live in some kind of dream world

    • Dennis Fox

      April 23, 2026 at 1:23 pm

Sheridan county is in fact a “Dream World” for me and almost everyone living here. And it’ll be even better with a lower, more reasonable 5% sales tax.
      Lower Taxes are always better.

If someone can afford a 50K car they can afford an additional 1%…the 1% tax has allowed Sheridan County to be a more desirable place to live which has increased land and real estate values to which even you are enjoying

    • Dennis Fox

      April 23, 2026 at 4:24 pm

High taxes don’t make a place more “desirable.” In fact high taxes make a place less desirable and drive people away. Look at NYC and LA.
A more reasonable and affordable 5% sales tax will make every taxpayer happy and more able to buy more goods locally.
      Lower taxes are better…always!

  11. Mark Steingass

    April 24, 2026 at 11:42 am

that’s not what the voters have ratified…the voters have always passed the 1% tax because the voters know what the benefits have been….majority wins!

  12. Dennis Fox

    April 24, 2026 at 2:58 pm

In the last two elections the minority voted for liberation from high taxes by 42%. If just 1,000 more folks realize that instead of complaining about high taxes, all they have to do is Vote, we’ll all enjoy the benefits of a lower tax burden. Just like the majority of Wyoming.
And we have not “always” imposed the state’s highest sales tax on ourselves. In the 1980’s we voted in the cap tax to build a new police station, then voted it out when the money for that “specific” purpose was completed. Just as intended.
Problem was big gov’t politicians like having extra money around, so they cranked up the Propaganda machine that has deceived us ever since.
Oh, the streets won’t get plowed if we don’t have the 1% TAX.
    Hogwash!
Lower taxes will come to Sheridan county someday….because,
    Lower taxes are better.
BTW will we see yards sign that say, “I like imposing higher taxes on my neighbors”?

  13. Mark Steingass

    April 27, 2026 at 10:22 am

the trump administration (who you continually endorse) has been imposing additional taxation on every American since day one through tariffs, and the ongoing conflicts in the middle east resulting in higher fuel prices and dramatically increased inflation which pales in comparison to the one percent tax…you are tripping over a dollar to pick up a penny

  14. Dennis Fox

    April 27, 2026 at 2:17 pm

We can do little about what the fed’s do to and with our money. We can make a huge difference locally by voting our sales tax down to a more affordable 5%.
We can also support lower tax candidates for local and state office.
Lower taxes are coming to Wyoming, because most people know we need a tax break
    Think nationally ACT locally.
Lower taxes are always better for everyone.

lower taxes are coming to Wyoming?…that’s a laugh considering the state financial shortfalls and the deteriorating condition of infrastructure such as roads and bridges I expect taxes will increase not decrease

  16. Dennis Fox

    April 27, 2026 at 11:32 pm

Wyoming ranks #10 in the nation for cash reserves. (about a $10 billion surplus) We’ve been over-taxing our citizens for decades and it’s time to stop gauging hard-working tax-payers.
We lowered taxes in ’06 when we abolished the food tax.
We stopped the 2013 College Bond Issue/Property tax hike.
Can you imagine your grocery bill and property taxes if we hadn’t lower those taxes! Yikes.
Point is we’ve killed high taxes before and we’ll do it again, soon, cuz we have to. Too many folks are suffering under high taxes and bloated gov’t.
Lower taxes are better and everybody knows it.

too many are suffering even more under the current GOP administration that’s why the GOP is in for a wolloping in November…lower taxes would only apply if the population was decreasing….increasing population puts more demand for public services and more investment needed for infrastructure such as water, roads, bridges power and communication. I anticipate an additional fuel tax of between 2-5 cents from the legislature in the not so distant future for roads and bridges alone…and as for the total cost of that lake De Smet water project?
