Defendant Changes Plea on Felony Property Destruction Charge
A change of plea hearing was recently held in Fourth Judicial District Court for a Sheridan County woman charged with felony property destruction. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
At approximately 9:50 pm on June 23, 2025, an officer with the Sheridan Police Department responded to a report of property destruction to a vehicle outside of a North Sheridan Avenue residence. Once on scene, it was determined that a substantial amount of damage had occurred to a vehicle owned by Natasha Combs. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 42-year-old Erin Peterson on July 15 for knowingly damaging Combs’ property with a piece of lumber that she had removed from Hunter Quarterman’s property.
Peterson, at a recent change of plea hearing in District Court, pleaded no contest to the charge of felony property destruction. The plea agreement recommends a deferred prosecution and three years of supervised probation. Peterson will have to pay $3,088 in restitution to the victim, and the payment must be made in full no later than the date of sentencing, which District Court Judge Ben Kirven said would be approximately four months from now. Judge Kirven ordered that a presentence investigation report be completed by the Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole and continued Peterson’s bond under the same terms and conditions that were previously set.
