Aaron PalmerJohnson County School District #1 will host the first of two community discussions concerning the proposed changes to graduation requirements within the district Wednesday (tonight) at Buffalo High School.
Superintendent Charles Auzqui has recommended adjusting graduation requirements from 28 credits to 24 credits starting in the fall of 2025.
He talks about the proposed changes, which are tentatively planned to be implemented over the next four years, which are designed to offer greater flexibility in school programming, address funding challenges, and better align with district staffing and student opportunities.
He said parents and community members are invited to attend, talk with district leadership, and learn more about the key factors influencing this decision.
The discussions will be Wednesday, (tonight) October 30 at the Buffalo High School Auditorium beginning at 6:00 p.m.; and the second will be Tuesday, November 5 at the Kaycee K-12 Multi-Purpose Room beginning at 5:30 p.m.
