Sheridan HS Boys and Girls Basketball: The Sheridan High School boys basketball team did not have much trouble with either opponent at home this past weekend.

In Friday’s win vs. Laramie, all the points for the Broncs came from the field, because the team did not go to the free throw line one time.

Up next is a home game this Friday against defending 4A State Champ Campbell County.

The Camels are off to a 3-8 start this season, but Head Coach Jeff Martini says don’t let their record fool you.

Meanwhile the Sheridan girls basketball team split weekend home games.

In Friday’s loss vs. Laramie, the Lady Broncs would tie the score midway through the second quarter, but then the opposition would pull away for good.

Head Coach Chris Wagner says despite that loss, some good did come out of the game, and the girls did not underestimate their opponent.

Like the boys, Sheridan plays at home this coming Friday vs. Campbell County and then visit Thunder Basin on Saturday.

Sheridan HS Boys Swimming: The Sheridan Broncs will swim in their home finale today against both Campbell County and Thunder Basin.

Competition starts at 4pm.

This weekend the team is scheduled to compete at Cheyenne East.

University of Wyoming Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowgirls have picked up their first weekly honor.

Jane Rumpf has been named the Freshman of the Week.

In both games vs. Utah State, she averaged 12.5 points per game, while shooting better than 52% from the field and 38% from behind the arc.

UW next plays tomorrow at home vs. Fresno State.

Denver Broncos Football: The season is over for the Denver Broncos, but a few players will get to play in 1 more game.

A total of 6 players were named to the Pro Bowl, which will be played 1 week from today in San Francisco.

Of those 6, 4 of them are starters.

Those 4 are offensive tackle Garret Bolles, Offensive Guard Quinn Meinerz, outside linebacker Nik Bonito and cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

In reserve for the AFC is wide receiver Courtland Sutton and defensive tackle Zach Allen.

Looking ahead to next season, all NFL teams already know which opponents they will face, as well as where the game will be played, but no one knows when and in what order.

For the Broncos, they will play both teams that are in the Super Bowl and as usual, the teams will play Kansas City, Las Vegas and the LA Chargers both home and away.

In 2026, Denver and the AFC West will play the AFC East.

This means former University of Wyoming Quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will make a return trip to Denver, plus Miami will visit the Mile High City and in return the Broncos will travel to New England and the New York Jets.

Denver will also play the NFC West, and that means home games against Seattle and the LA Rams, plus road trips to San Francisco and Arizona.

The Broncos will play the other AFC first place teams and that means a home game against Jacksonville and a road trip to Pittsburgh.

Finally the AFC West teams will travel to the same place finishers in the AFC South, which means Denver is also going to Carolina to complete the 8-home 9-away schedule.

Dates of the games are normally announced sometime in May.

The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 23rd thru the 26th.

The Broncos select 30th in the first round.
