The task of the committee made up of Councilors Jacob Martin, Shawn Day, and Steven Brantz, was to create a resolution outlining the criteria and other requirements for those interested in applying for the additional retail liquor license that the City received. Councilor Shawn Day, at a Council study session Monday night, outlined the process the committee is recommending.

The Council and Mayor Rich Bridger were for the most part in agreement with the process that the committee presented to the Council, but Councilman Clint Beaver and Aaron Linden wanted further clarification as to exactly who would be conducting the evaluations of the applications. After much discussion,  the committee agreed to meet again to address the Councilor’s concerns and further develop the criteria that will be used in selecting which applicants will be selected for the lottery drawing for the liquor license. Councilman Beaver had this request of the committee as well.

The additional retail liquor license is the City’s 23rd and it was allotted to the City due to a population increase of approximately 800 people in the 2020 Census.
