County EOC: COVID Cases Dropping, but ‘Still in Red Zone’

Published

on

Johnson County’s COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center (EOC) had their weekly briefing Tuesday, and reported that although cases in the county and the state seem to be trending down, there is still a need to be careful.

Public Health’s Robin King and Johnson County Healthcare Center’s Christina Duarte spoke about the issue.

King said the Moderna vaccine should be here this week, and they expect to begin vaccinations for healthcare providers next week.

Because of the scheduled deliveries of the vaccine and the numbers associated with the various tiered priority groups she expects to move through them fairly quickly once vaccinations begin.

King reported 34 total cases of COVID-19 in Johnson County last week.

Duarte said the current census in the hospital is six, four of which are COVID-positive patients from the veterans’ home.

Residents of the Amie Holt Care Center were able to come out isolation in their rooms and begin having visitors, although they are seeing them outside at this point.

Cases couldn’t be dropping because a LOT more folks are wearing masks, that couldn’t be the reason !! NAHHHHHHH !!!!!

Could be multiple reasons for that.
But, you truly are a one trick pony Harriett.

Thanks Mak. One trick is correct. Until people quit dying I will continue trying anything to get folks to realize, that there are folks dying. What possible excuse is there for Not wearing a mask?? If it helps save ONE life I will continue on my mask campaign. Sorry if it makes you and Mitch uncomfortable. I have lost 4 friends to Covid, here in Sheridan and that fills me with even more resolve to repeat my “one trick”. Get Used to it Mak, cause we are in for a Long Dark Winter.

No discomfort on my part what so ever.
Do you even understand what the term “Dark Winter” is referring to?

Yes I know what my understanding of the Upcoming “Dark Winter” is. That is why I used the term. As to being a “one trick pony” why do your posts always end with a mysterious question/ statement, meant to confound your opponent but adds nothing for the discussion .. So in the end , you and I will continue to disagree and bring no help to this problem, thereby we waste our time. I sincerely hope you have good health and avoid why you should have worn a mask. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you Mak.
