Chase Christensen Talks About Future Plans
At the Wednesday, May 13 SCSD#3 Board of Trustees meeting in a three-two vote, approved to exercise the ‘termination without cause‘ clause in the 2026–2029 superintendent contract for Chase Christensen, who has been the superintendent there for the past four years.
In an interview with Sheridan Media, Christensen thanked the board for the four years he served in SCSD#3.
He added that “No things are bad things, they are just things. It wasn’t necessarily me opening the door, but it’s an open door so I’ll walk through it.”
In April, Christensen was honored with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) Advocacy Champion of the Year Award. In speaking of the award, he said he has attempted to make sure the students at SCSD#3 have every opportunity or more opportunities than other students around the state.
He said is considering several options for his future
“I think we’ve got a better work-based program here than anywhere in the nation,” Christensen added. He said other schools have reached out to him asking for the model for the work-based learning program and how A/C School makes it happen.

Christensen speaking at the 2025 Graduation
Christensen has always put the students first at SCSD#3, and the senior class this year approached Christensen about speaking at their graduation.
Last year in March, Christensen was honored by WASSP, (Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals) as the 2025 Principal of the Year. These prestigious awards recognize school leaders who demonstrate extraordinary leadership, commitment, and dedication to their students, staff, and school communities.
He added his thanks again for being superintendent in SCSD#3, and felt the school was in a good place.
After the three-two vote, the two nay votes, Chairman Kelly Little and Board Treasurer Deborah Guyer resigned their positions on the board.
