Trial Date Set for Man Charged With Heroin Distribution
A trial date has been set for a man charged with several counts of heroin distribution. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
On May 29, a trooper with the Wyoming Highway Patrol pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 90 near Sheridan for speeding. According to court documents all four occupants of the vehicle, two males and two females, appeared to be disoriented. Following a search of the vehicle, 26-year-old David Osteen was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance- Heroin, Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver- Heroin, and Possession of a Controlled Substance- Heroin. Osteen pleaded “not guilty” to all three of the felony charges at a recent arraignment hearing in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan.
District Court Judge John Fenn set the date for the two-day jury trial to begin on December 7, and scheduled a pretrial conference for November 5 at 10 am. If convicted on all counts, Osteen faces up to 47 years in prison and fines of up to $65,000.
