Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on March 25, 1920.

Sheridan’s Donald Garbutt post of the American Legion has endorsed recommendations of the legion’s national committee that the federal government make one of the following compensations possible for all former service men: Land settlement covering all states. Aid in the purchase of homes. Vocational education for all ex-service men. Or adjustment of compensation based on length of service.

Joe Robin, a miner in the Acme mine, was struck by a runaway car in the mine about 9:30 o’clock this morning.

The janitor of the court house, assisted by a county prisoner, is engaged in trimming the trees on the court house lawn.
