Ron RichterThe Wyoming Department of Health on Tuesday announced the death of a Campbell County woman identified previously as one of the state’s laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The Department of Health in a news release Tuesday, confirmed the death, bringing the total number of deaths in Wyoming due COVID-19 to 25. The older female did not have health conditions known to put patients at higher risk of serious illness related to COVID-19 and had not been hospitalized. State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist at a recent news conference, said that they have learned a lot about the disease over the last several months.
Dr. Harrist continued to stress the importance of wearing face coverings when physical distancing of at least six feet isn’t practical.
The total number of cases of COVID-19 grew by 51 on Tuesday, 40 of those being lab confirmed, and the other 11 are probable cases. Sheridan County remained at 31 confirmed cases, Johnson County 18, and Campbell County had four additional confirmed cases Tuesday, bringing their total to 78 cases. More statistical information can be found on the Wyoming Department of Health website, which updates at 3 pm weekdays, and at 9 am on the weekends and holidays.
