Ron RichterWyoming Department of Workforce Services Director Robin Cooley, at a news conference this week, addressed the high volume of unemployment claims in the state as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. She said that they’ve experienced a dramatic increase in unemployment claims.
Cooley talked about some of the things they’ve done to try and address the increase in claims
Cooley also addressed the CARES Act that President Donald Trump signed into law on March 27.
Cooley said that the two main programs under the CARES Act that they are focusing on are the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program and the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program. She said that their goal is to have the programs implemented by the end of the month.
