Ron RichterDay Break, the adult day care facility adjacent to the Hub on Smith in Sheridan, has reported that a client has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, in-person services in Day Break have been suspended immediately. According to a news release from the Hub, the client was pre-symptomatic and was tested as a routine measure following a positive test by a family member.
The Hub on Smith is making the proper inquiries and are testing employees who were in contact with the person who tested positive to verify no transmission occurred. The Hub has been working with the Public Health Department since being alerted of the positive test and all necessary precautions are being taken to mitigate any further spread of the virus.
Service delivery will continue for clients via Zoom meetings including support groups and activities. Deliveries through the Home Delivered Meals program will continue as usual, uninterrupted. Home Delivered Meals volunteers will continue to pick up their meal bags outside of the facility as has been the case for the last several months. Other services such as Goose Creek Transit and Help at Home will continue, following strict enhanced sanitation and safety protocols. Loan closet hours will continue to be Monday – Friday from noon – 4 p.m.
