Ron RichterSheridan Fire-Rescue Chief Gary Harnish, while a guest on our news talk show Public Pulse Monday, discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the fire department. Harnish said that the first change was locking the fire station down to the public.
Harnish said that while the day-to-day operations of the fire department remain unchanged for the most part, they have had to temporarily put a halt to a number of public education programs that they offer.
Harnish said that they continue to respond to all of the calls that they’ve responded to prior to the pandemic, but that the way they respond has changed.
