Pat BlairThe Hub on Smith Street has issued an update of services provided to Sheridan County residents.
The Hub building and other meal sites in the county remain closed until further notice, and The Hub is adding more people and routes to the home-delivered meal program. Meals are delivered daily between 11 a.m. In and 1 p.m.
Goose Creek Transit is now offering only critically necessary medical trips for dialysis and cancer treatment. The fixed route is discontinued until further notice.
The Day Break Adult Day Care is closed until further notice, although some respite may be provided in the future.
The Hub’s in-home Help at Home services have been downsized to those most in need, and staff are making regular phone calls to visit socially, determine if food or supplies are needed and to share information on COVID-19 prevention and community resources and services.
The Hub’s Support Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. via phone or email. The phone number is (307) 461-7134, email is jhoeft@thehubsheridan.org.
Family Caregiver Services may be reached by phone, (307) 461-7134, and support groups continue to be provided over the phone and video conferencing. Services are also available for Older Relatives Caregicvers (formerly the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program).
Education workshops for caregiver and dementia-specific education services are ongoing through ZOOM video conferencing. Caregiver coaching and consultation is provided over the phone and video conferencing.
The Loan Closet is available from noon to 4 p.m. by phone appointment only. The number is (307) 672-2240, ext. 113.
For outreach case management, call (307) 672-2240, ext. 111. These services are for individuals of low income and many are available all age groups, not jusrt seniors.
For Tongue River Valley outreach, call (307) 655-9419. The Hub provides many of the same services to the Tongue River Valley area, including home-delivered meals, Help at Home and the Loan Closet.
Grab n Go and the Green Boomerang are closed until further notice, and all activities and classes at The Hub are also closed until further notice.
