The Sheridan County Library System is preparing for one of their busiest times of year as the Summer Reading Program is set to begin on June 15.

The Summer Reading Program has broken participation records for the last two years. In 2024 the program saw 550 children take part and 2025 had approximately 850.

Library System Director Amy Long appeared on Public Pulse and said the Summer Reading Program will begin on June 15 and readers of all ages are invited to take part this year. Staff have chosen a dinosaur theme this year and are working to visually display the amount of books that are being read over the course of the program’s summer run.

Long also alerted the public to the temporary closure of the Alger Street entrance to the Fulmer Library as renovations continue. The Brooks Street Entrance is available for use.
