Dennis Fox Announces Candidacy for County Commission
Dennis Fox is happy to announce his candidacy for Sheridan County Commissioner. Dennis was born in Texas, went to school in Virginia, flew for twenty years as an Air Force officer and has joyfully lived in Sheridan County for the last 23 years.
He’s a former Special Operations navigator with thousands of hours of flight-time as both pilot and navigator. Major Fox retired in 2002 and came to Wyoming seeking like-minded people and freedom. He wanted to fulfill his dream of building an off-grid homestead. Done!
He’s found everything he wanted, right here in Sheridan County and is here “for the duration.”
Dennis has been a professional carpenter, roofer, cashier, waiter, ski mechanic and instructor. He can bale hay, build a house and navigate an aircraft across the ocean using the stars and a compass. His true love is political theory and international relations. (he has degrees in both)
His political philosophy is Jeffersonian: “Those who govern least govern best.” America was founded on the principles of: individual liberty, limited government and the rule of law.
“We’ve drifted off course and my goal is to work with the other commissioners to restore fiscal responsibility and return to the values that made America great.”
Dennis believes that faith, family and freedom are the rock-solid foundation that America was built on. “We need to dust off our Bibles and Constitutions, to ensure our legacy of freedom is passed on.”
Dennis took the oath of military office to protect and defend our constitution. That oath has no time limit. “I call Wyoming the last best hope for freedom in America and I’m running to save America, by first, defending Wyoming.”
He’s been fighting for lower taxes and less government interference, since ‘03. He joined the effort to abolish the food tax and led the 2013 fight to stop the bond issue/property tax hike. Both wins have saved us millions of dollars.
“The high-tax, big-government socialist road we’re on, is leading to the destruction of our Wyoming way of life. We need a course correction, and we need it now.”
As commissioner, he’ll be a strong advocate for a lower property tax mill rate and a lower, more affordable 5% sales tax. Both tax reductions will put millions of dollars back in our pockets.
“If it lowers taxes or puts decisions back in your hands, I’m all for it.”
Dennis stands for transparency and the accountability of our public officials. “We shouldn’t have commissioners who break the public trust.”
If you want a real Republican who will lead us back to lower taxes, less government intrusion and more freedom; Dennis Fox is your man.

Dennis Fox is for higher than required taxes. The states sales tax rate is 4%, obviously the county commission has no control over that just like they have no control over any future work on Coffeen Ave. But they do have control over the extra penny. The news release above says he supports a 5% sales tax rate! Keep your own spare change and vote for someone that supports lower sales tax !

No, he doesn’t “support a 5% sales tax rate!” Read his posting again. He says he wants to make that tax “more affordable” which means he wants to lower it. You can oppose Mr. Fox, but please don’t distort what he says. We’re seeing all too much of that in politics today.

The state rate is 4% Charles . The current rate in this county is 6. If he supports a lowering of the sales tax in this community then why not go to 4. The article clearly states he supports a 5% sales tax rate . Your mind tricks are not working. Regardless of what he wants he will not get anyways .

Ezra, go read Dennis’s announcement again. Maybe even read it again more than once. He wants to get Sheridan to a LOWER more affordable sales tax than (the current) 5%. And you’re also incorrect that the BOCC has “no control over any future work on Coffeen Ave”. They are a MAJOR influence and certainly are stakeholders in what takes place any where in Sheridan County – ON OUR BEHALF!

Are you a little nervous that people have had enough of the 1800’s lifestyle ? You seem flustered with all your capitalized words. The town is growing rather you like it or not . Build a wall around it if you want, but that’s not a very freedman caucus thing to do it would be rather expensive .

I am absolutely in favor of Dennis becoming one of our Sheridan County Commissioners. Let’s bring him on board to join with two other Commissioners (who are already on the Board), who have ACTUALLY 1) always been fiscally and constitutionally devoted to carry out their responsibilities and; 2) to help return the BOCC to wise decisions concerning how it will manage the funds provided to them by US, the Tax Payers, and 3) help pass audits with no discrepancies. Imagine that! Let’s do all we can to help Dennis achieve his goals as our newest Commissioner by voting for him and urging all our Republican, Conservative, Constitutionally minded friends to do the same.
