The University of Wyoming’s TOMÉ Scholars to Fellows Program is expanding following a $20 million gift from UW alumni Carol and Ramon Tomé, one of the largest donations in university history.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, University of Wyoming Director of Institutional Communication Chad Baldwin said the Tomés already fund a similar program that focuses on environmental sciences and Wyoming’s wildlife.

According to Baldwin, the Tomés’ newest investment also expands the model into the UW College of Business to create a cohort-based scholarship initiative focused on business innovation, entrepreneurship, applied research and leadership development. This new program is modeled after the success of the Haub School program and will cultivate innovative Wyoming-centered business leaders equipped to drive economic and community vitality across the state. According to UW, the inaugural business cohort will launch in fall 2027, initially supporting seven scholars annually and growing to 28 students across four cohorts.

The program will help to prepare future leaders through research, internships, study abroad experiences and community service opportunities across Wyoming and beyond.
