Clearmont Council Discusses Emergency Operations Plan
The Clearmont Town Council met on Monday, May 18, in Town Hall.
Mayor Chris Schock reported on the WAM board meeting he attended in Lander. One item they discussed was the possible 50% reduction of property taxes. Schock said that if this goes through, Clearmont would lose funding for a portion of the Clearmont Fire District and all the funding for the Clear Creek Recreation Center.

He added that people are beginning to help in cleaning up the town, and he asked that everyone participate in the town clean-up day on May 31. Those wanting to enjoy a lunch are asked to RSVP at town hall by May 26.
Discussion on the town lot was tabled until another meeting.

The incoming clerk, Barbara Pepin, attended the meeting. Shelby Fennema’s last day will be May 28th.

Jesse Ludikhuize, Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator, approached the town about adopting the Sheridan County Emergency Operation Plan.
Council voted to approve the Sheridan County Emergency Operation Plan, without Ludikhuize reading it page by page.
Chris Schock was sworn in as Mayor and Ernest Miller was sworn in as council member.
Next meeting will be held on June 15, at Town Hall.
