Yellowstone National Park West Entrance To Open For Summer 2026 Travelling Season
The spring and summer traveling season in the nation’s first national park is about to begin.
The west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, as well as two of the main roads on the west side of the park, are scheduled to open to motor vehicle traffic on Friday, April 17th at 8am.
The other two main roads are from Mammoth Hot Springs to Old Faithful and from Norris to Canyon Village.
Changing weather conditions could force park officials to temporarily re-close those roads, until it’s safe to open them again.
The roads connecting the north to the northeast entrances of the park are open year-round.
Other roads within the park are still closed and snowplow crews are working on clearing them.
The East entrance to Fishing Bridge and from Fishing Bridge to both Bridge Bay and Canyon Village is scheduled to open on May 1st and the South entrance on May 8th.
Dunraven Pass is scheduled to open on May 22nd.
